Located on Duporth Avenue the 11 storey M1 building was the start of a new era for the Sunshine Coasts’ Maroochydore CBD with the surrounding area becoming a popular business, dining and leisure precinct.
Principal civil and structural engineer, Peter Barlow completed the detailed engineering design for the landmark building as it was situated on the junction Cornmeal Creek and Maroochy River meaning the geotechnical design of the footings and basement were critical to the success of the construction phase.
The mixed use building incorporates 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments as well as ground floor office and retail spaces and designed with cutting edge architecture and vital lifestyle elements. It was awarded the 2006 Sunshine Coast Master Builders Award for buildings $10M to $50M and is now home to Barlow Shelley Consulting Engineers head office.
